The Lenoir Saxophone Ensemble has a proud education-based tradition that goes back many years. One of the founding members of Lenoir Sax was a member of the famous Lenoir High School Concert Band under the director of Colonel Harper. This man and his musical influence planted the seeds for some of the music you hear all over the world today. Why, even the lead oboist from the New York Philharmonic was a student at Lenoir High!

So, the members of Lenoir Sax try to honor their teachers and all of the great things they were taught by carrying on the tradition and sharing the same love of music they grew up with to those who are now in school.

Lenoir Sax has several concert programs that may be custom tailored to whatever needs your school may have: be it Revolutionary/Civil War songs, Classical, Modern Jazz, or even Ragtime! Most of these programs are 45 minutes to an hour depending upon class schedules.

Here is a video clip of Lenoir Sax in action with an elementary school class. (Windows Media Player 9 required)
